Sydney is a Junior at Indiana University studying Human Resource Management with a minor in Education Policy in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. She works at O’Neill’s Career Hub as a Peer Educator, has an HR internship with Stone Belt, and volunteers at the IU Auditorium. In her free time, she loves going to basketball games, singing, and going to the gym! As President of HRA, she plans to use her role as a way to get more students involved, whether it’s at corporate visits, conferences, or speaker events. Josie is a Kelley School of Business student studying Business Management and Law, Ethics, and Decision-Making, set to graduate in May of 2021. She is pursuing a career path in HR (specializing in recruiting/talent development) to help make workplaces a better place for everyone! She’s a Fort Wayne, IN local who loves The Beatles, color guard, and checking out new local restaurants! Her purpose overall is to cultivate growth: “I want to help motivate others by setting the pace in developing new approaches and innovation of the old. I like to look at the “big picture”, the goals, and the ideas to help HR help others find the next step in their career and make workplaces a better experience for everyone”. Meaning is important to her; she is always looking to do the right thing and seeking growth and development to uncover more to support and guide others.
Josie has been employed with Sweetwater (located in her hometown, Fort Wayne) and IU’s HR department’s compensation team. Because she loves working with others and learning new things, her role as Vice President for HRA at IU allows her to use her strengths of coaching/mentoring and leadership to help discuss, plan, and implement programs and events to increase internship placement and awareness of HR industry related topics.

Director of Marketing: Lauren Steitz, lmsteitz@iu.edu
Lauren is a Junior studying Human Resources Management with a minor in Spanish in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs. Her past and present employments include working as a Barista at Poindexter Cafe within The Graduate Hotel in Bloomington, an HR intern with Iwantic in Sevilla, Spain, and volunteering as an English language teacher. Outside of her coursework Lauren enjoys studying foreign languages (Spanish + French & Korean), travelling, meeting new people, and visiting the various locally-owned coffee shops of Bloomington!
Lauren, in her role as the Director of Marketing, is driven to
- Strengthen the connection with current members and build new connections between the HRA and the students of O’Neill & IU by maintaining active and consistent marketing and content and to maximize reach and engagement
- Provide content that is impactful and cultivates the opportunity to learn and grow
- Establish the opportunity to connect through a mentorship program and maintained relationships with HRA Alumni

Holly is a Junior majoring in Human Resource Management with a minor in Law and Public Policy. She is passionate about initiating cold contact with individuals and understanding what motivates people, which is why she is drawn to Human Resources. Holly believes it takes a certain individual to advocate for their employees and express a strategic business mindset through their job to be successful in Human Resources, and possess those skills.
In her free time Holly loves to travel, try new coffee places, rollerblade, zumba, and do any outdoor activity like hiking and kayaking! She also enjoys playing and watching sports, as she played softball my whole life, and staying active in her community by volunteering and giving back. Celeste is currently a Junior studying Human Resource Management with a minor in Business. She is also a Peer Tutor for K303 at Kelley and involved in the IU Fencing Club. Celeste has been employed with OPS and Fruitful Day as a summer intern, both of which are located in Dubai. As Director of Finance, Celeste is in charge of creating a budget for all HRA activities.
