- Call-Out Meeting- Wednesday, September 6th from 5-6 pm in SPEA 277. This meeting will provide background information on the HRA, our membership benefits, all requirements, future events, etc. If you are interested in joining or are a returning member this call-out will bring you up to speed about what current membership with the HRA entails!
- Resume Workshop w/ IU Career Hub- Wednesday, September 13th from 2-3 pm in the Career Hub Studio. The Career Hub will be providing our members with a resume template as well as proper resume guidelines and practices. Career Hub Peers will be assisting with reviewing resumes and helping to make edits and/or changes.
- Chipotle Fundraiser- Saturday, September 16th from 5-9 pm at Chipotle on Kirkwood [420 E Kirkwood Ave, Bloomington, IN 47408]. We are partnering with Chipotle to raise funds for the HRA. You can support us by spreading the word, ordering for dine-in [make sure to say you are supporting the Human Resource Association or present a flyer at check out], or ordering for pickup [if you choose to order pick-up our code is CGGXBDR].
- Interviewing skills w/ ULINE- Wednesday, September 20th from 5:30-7 pm in Woodburn Hall room 121. ULINE recruiters will be presenting on how to improve your interviewing skills and providing a group activity for members to practice. At the end of this event, members will be given time to network with the recruiters!
- Game Night w/DFAS- Monday, October 2nd from 5-6 pm in the Psychology Building room 113. Recruiters from the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) will be partnering with us to host a game night. Students will compete in HR trivia-related games such as Jeopardy, kahoot, and more to win prizes. Students will also have the opportunity to network with the DFAS recruiters to learn about their current internship and full-time job opportunities. Food and prizes will be provided!
- Spooky Ice Cream Movie Night- Thursday, October 19th from 5-7 pm in the Hoosier Den at Read. As requested we will be hosting an ice cream social movie night. We plan on showing a Halloween movie with ice cream sundaes and we have sent out a poll on move and ice cream options. This will be a great opportunity to get to know your peers in the HRA!
- HR Professional Panel- Friday, November 10th from 10 - 11:30 am in the Graduate Center at O'Neill. Join us for our professional panel event which will consist of 4 HR Practitioners speaking on the topic of "Managing Changing Employee Expectations" in addition to questions that students prepare and submit to us through our Google Form which will be sent out 2 weeks prior to the event.
- SHRM Night- Tuesday, November 28th from 5:30-6:30 pm at Ballantine Hall in room 145. We invite everyone to join us for SHRM night where we will be promoting SHRM certification guides and study tips, SHRM BASK, and expanding on the impact of SHRM after graduation. Throughout the event, we will examine SHRM competencies while playing games in addition to giving out 2 FREE SHRM Student Memberships!
- End-of Semester All Member Meeting & Awards- CANCELLED!
Due to low RSVP numbers, we have made the executive decision to CANCEL this event. We want to ensure that all of our members have the opportunity to submit any and all feedback on their experience with the HRA. - Winter Involvement Fair- Wednesday, January 17th from 5-8 pm in Alumni Hall [IMU]. This event will provide background information on the HRA, our membership benefits, all requirements, future events, etc. If you are interested in joining we will provide call-out meeting details!

- Professor Panel - Friday, February 16th from 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm at O'Neill in the Graduate Center [first floor]. This will be a panel of all IU professors coming together to chat and answer questions on current legal issues within the HR world. This is a great opportunity for you to come up with any and all legal questions and learn more about employment law!
- IndySHRM Conference - Sunday, February 25th from 6:45 am - 3:30 pm at Maven Space. This is a FREE conference hosted by IndySHRM and is a great way to dive further into the ever-changing world of HR. You will have the opportunity to hear from several different panelists and get the chance to network with HR professionals. We will leave SPEA at 7 am and return at SPEA around 3:30 pm. Please come dressed in business attire as this is a professional event.
- College to Career - Monday, March 26th from 6:30-7:30 pm in SPEA A201. This event will outline some of the paths you can take after college, along with some of the ways you can prepare. There are so many opportunities and paths available to you after graduation and we want to help ensure that you stay informed. We will also discuss the transition from college work to professional work and some of the emotions that come with that transition. Snacks will be provided.
- DEI Lunch & Learn w/ SCIHRA - Friday, March 29th from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at the Graduate Center in O'Neill. We have been working with the South Central Indiana Human Resource Association to put together a lunch event with a few speakers to touch on DEI. Our goal is to have an informal DEI conversation along with guided questions facilitating a conversation advocating for DEI initiatives, what it looks like to promote DEI in the work environment, and what HR's role is in implementing DEI practices in their future professions. Lunch will be provided, please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions and plan on attending. There is no dress code required to attend.
- Kainos Site Visit - Friday, April 12th from 10:30 am - 1:30 pm at the Kainos office in Indianapolis. We will be meeting at the O'Neill parking lot at 9 am and will be leaving NO LATER than 9:15 am so please plan ahead as we will not wait for you. We should arrive back at O'Neill around 3 pm. This will be a site visit to Kainos out in Indy. Kainos provides information technology services, consulting, and software solutions. They offer digital and workday practice services... many of you might have experience with workday as an HRIS. This visit will include lunch, open networking, shadowing a team meeting, Q&A, as well as different HR function breakout sessions. This visit is meant to be interactive and to feel less like a lecture! Please only RSVP if you are 100% sure of attendance as we need a headcount for both transportation and per Kaino's request. Please plan on being dressed in business attire as this is a professional event.
- Paws for Finals: Stress Relief w/ Service Dogs: Monday, April 22nd from 12 pm -2 pm in Wells Library room 851. This is a great opportunity for you to stop by during dead week and de-stress with some service dogs before finals!
