In February 2019 the Human Resource Association hosted its all-day annual case competition with 6 participating teams. The case required participants to think as a strategic HRM consultant, outline any changes that you might recommend for the client, identify problems, discuss HRM functions, recommend specific changes, and to justify one's recommendations.
This event was executed by the HRA's 2018 executive board with participating judges from the Kelley School of Business's Human Capital Club, O'Neills HR instructors, and visiting professionals in the HR field.
With 3 hours to analyze the given case, consider and formulate the best recommendation, and generate a highly effective presentation to a pannel of 6 judges, the 6 participating teams demonstrated highly effective presentation and advanced problem-solving skills with remarks and comments indicating high comprehension and understanding of material and application-based knowledge of HR practices. The winning team was awarded a full compensation package to attend the the Indiana SHRM Conference 2019 hosted in Indianapolis, Indiana at the JW Marriott. This 4 day event offers students an exclusive chance to network and learn from seasoned professionals from all over the state in an array of positions and divisions of HR with additional keynote speakers, breakout sessions, and exposure to the latest and newest HR tools.
